The auction of surplus equipment will take place on Thursday, November 9th at 10:00 AMat the Public Works garage....why not schedule this for a Saturday morning at 10 am, like most towns do, it will draw a larger crowd who happen to be off work on Saturdays, or is this so the employees and their friends can get a cheap deal?? |

I was going to eventually make this exact point... we are paying these jackass town employees more than enough to demand the minor service that they show up once every couple of years, for a couple of hours, on a Saturday.
They're probably not going to explain, publicly, how the bidding thing will work so I guess I'll have to request the information. I think they ought to just sell the stuff on ebay... better yet setup a auction web page of their own-- it ain't brain surgery.
It also is really irritating that they would list computers without providing basics like processor speed and memory.
