Roppers.com- IE tools

I did a little work on the "Choose Style Sheet" function. I added a more certain way to "exit" the little box of css files (also can hide the box by by clicking white space inside than outside the box) Also: The "default" should now "more" usually restore the page to its original condition. I have noticed on my slow 5.0 machine that if you use the font style or font size tools-the default style sheet sometimes doesn't work to restore the page. ( using the keyboard shortcuts doesn't seem to cause the same problem)

I also did some work on the "comment cookie" tool-- You can now "try" to delete the whole cookie by typing the word "kill" in the prompt box.

These changes have only been made to the actual toolbox script and not the script on the example page.

Bug update [5/12/03]: As I am - apparently - in only person using the tool box I guess I'll have to supply my own bug reports: Since I did the framing update I had noticed a disturbingly frequent tendency for the toolbox to cause my 5.0 version of Internet Explorer [running on Windows 98] to catastrophically crash [closing all open I E Windows]. From what I understand this is likely caused by a "memory leak"-- I think it's some kind of global variable problem. I made a couple of minor changes to my system (deleting IE temp files) and a couple of minor changes to the toolbox. The problem hasn't recurred, but I'm not confident I've eliminated the vulnerability.

I have not done any-- faster machine, IE 6.0 -- testing recently. I hope to have access to a faster computer this week to make sure I haven't broken anything.

The tools on my current "need to update or fix list" are:

Continuous reload: add ability to increment and decrement image or page address.

Form Filliner: complete overhaul (currently not practical or secure)

Zap Events: provide the option to select which events are disabled.

Set / Read Cookies: create an auto-feature that stores selected information--last visit etc.

Annoying Irregularities (things I'm trying to fix, but haven't figured out yet)

Sometimes you need to click the DNGtools icon more than once to force the toolbox into the page.

Using some tools can prevent other tools from working ( I know I need to better document these circumstances).

Hi,

I was trying your program. However, it is not working properly on my browser. I assume because my PC has various security set.

I am trying to delete it now but cannot find out how. Your program doesn't show in the Add/Delete program, and I'm not sure if just deleting the folder where it was installed will do the trick. I'm not a power user so I don't know how it works and what files to look for to remove it.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Sorry about your unsuccessful installation. I would like to know more regarding the hows and whys of the failure, but I won't press you for details.

The program has a very light and benign system profile, deleting this directory
C:>Program Files>Powercons
will disable the program. If you feel you must remove registry references to the program execute this registry file. dngunint.reg (sel. current location--ok--ok)

Thanks for the excellent utilities.
I will like to know if I can disable the backspace key in IE to go to the previous page. I prefer to use Alt + Left arrow.

Hi there sw author!

Looks very interesting...take a roll over to check out myie2 - an amazing browser shell.

Check the forums too! I am very active on the boards there. A lot of people are writing plugins that do different stuff. There is a toolbar and a plugin sidebar that seems to have limitless possibilities. I haven't tried Powercons yet but I did post to the group this could be pretty amazing - handing multiple action plugins in 1 sidebar (you'll have to see the program and hit the forums to see what I mean)

page for myie2:

http://www.myie2.com/html_en/home.htm

You can get the forums from there or from the help menu.

Hope it works!!

C ya soon
