Sgt Richard Morales

Mendham lost one of its best when Sgt Richard Morales passed away last week. He was well known and regarding in the community for his tireless efforts supporting the youth, town, community and country.
There was hadly a dry eye at the memorial on thursday at Hilltop Cemetary. I for one have never witnessed such an outpouring of emotion for an individual in all my time on this earth.
My heart goes out to Mrs Morales and their children for their unexpected loss. I cannot imagine what they must be going through at this moment.
The only solace I can offer is this. At the end of one of my all-time favorite movies (Wizard of Oz) the Wizard tells the tin man "A heart is not judged by how much you loved, but by how much you have been loved by others" Based upon what I saw this past Thursday, there are not too many individuals who were loved and respected as much as Sgt Richard Morales.
