I submitted these questions to the town council: Will residents participating in town sponsored/subsidized fishing derbies be required to have/purchase a state of New Jersey fishing license? 4/7/06 update: At the meeting the council attorney explained that children under 12 or 13-- she didn't know the exact age--did not need a fishing license, but anyone else fishing would. You are currently charging what the law describes as the "not to exceed maximum" fee for copies of public documents. Obviously the law provides municipalities the opportunity to charge more reasonable fees... if the town has $20,000 to throw away celebrating a one hundred year-old fight over water rights, why can't it find the few dollars required to make public information held by government "freely" (or at actual cost) accessible? 4/7/06 update: there was no response from the council to the question. |
